April 14: Open House at Tim’s German Auto from 11am-1pm with a show and shine for Fort Worth Volks Folks members. Please join us for a tour of the shop and a hot dog. It’s a rain or shine event, see you on April 14th, thank you to Pat and Tim for all your help and support through the years

April 18: Parker County Brewing Company - 225 Shops Blvd. Suite 105 Willow Park, TX 76087 6:30pm-9:30pm The Westside VW event meets every 3rd Wednesday each month. This month we return to The Parker County Brewing Company in Willow Park! They will have food and beer of course, and the place looks to be amazing along with awesome parking. We will park towards the back of the main parking lot closer to the service road and away from the other patrons.

Again, I hope to see some folks show up and as the weather warms up this event will grow tremendously and there may be a little more to it. See you there, Milo aka Mike Lowe

April 20-22: The 2018 Texas VW Classic - Lady Bird Park 432 Lady Bird Dr  Fredericksburg, TX 78624 Come join us in Fredericksburg, TX for a weekend of camping, cruising and Volkswagenism! Roll through the hill country on the Bluebonnet Rally on Friday. Then wake up early Saturday to show off your VW to the masses, check out the competition, and navigate the sea of spare parts, used cars, toys, and other VW items. Spectators get in free, and only $20 to enter a car in the show! Fredericksburg is an historic German settlement full of shopping, entertainment, historic sights and tourist attractions. This is a beautiful time of year in Texas so if you can, do yourself a favor and join in the camp-out. May 5: Garlyn Shelton VW Show - 5700 SW HK Dodgen Loop 363 Bldg A Temple, TX 76504 8:30am-3:00pm This is a free show presented by Wild Hare Promotions , sponsored by Garlyn Shelton VW, Fun for the whole family games for the kiddies, raffles, and door prizes, trophies for top twenty 20 cars, best of show and best type one, two, and three, longest distance driven, best patina, swap meet, food concession. Gates open 8:30 am Awards @ 3:00 pm come on out and lets have a great day.

May 12: VDubs on Auto Alley - Oklahoma City, OK  9:00am-4:00pm Volkswagens will line NW 8th Street at N. Broadway in Oklahoma City’s Historic Automobile Alley District from 9 am to 4 pm at the 2nd Annual VDubs on Auto Alley street festival. Hosted by the VW Club of Oklahoma City this family/pet-friendly street festival will feature a VDub car show, art exhibit, pop-up park, and urban camping. Live music, VDub Love photo booth, and Pente tournament provided by Hideaway Pizza. Urban Camping is available in the Boathouse District at Riversport Adventures. Car show will feature 29 classes including air & water cooled VW’s. Awards to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd in each class & specialty awards. Registration is open online at www.vwclubokc.org until May 5th & onsite May 12th from 9-11am with awards at 3pm. $10 discount for entering both shows by May 12th! May 13: Monumental Bug Bash - San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site 9:00am-4:00pm San Jacinto Battleground will be the site of the Bay Area Volkswagen Club’s 28th Annual “Monumental Bug Bash” on Sunday May 13th, 2018. The park gates will open at 9:00am to the public, along with “oodles and oodles” of “bugs,” “beetles,” and numerous other Volkswagen vehicles.

Pre-registration for VW owners will be conducted through 9:00am but regular registration will continue until the awards are passed out at 4:00pm For information on registration of your VW please call David Saucier at 832-205-2300 or visit the Bay Area VW Club website at www.bayareavwclub.com.
Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy this day-long presentation of these unique and often classic vehicles. If you have an old VW or just want to come and see the show, bring a picnic lunch and make a day of it. Or food, snacks and drinks may be purchased at the show. Admission for spectators is admitted free of charge to the Monumental Bug Bash.
